About Rick Fields

Frederick Douglas ‘Rick’ Fields was a journalist, poet and leading authority on Buddhism's history and development in the United States who died of lung cancer in 1999. The Uncle of Fields Center founder, Jennifer Bogin, Rick was an inspirational figure in her life.

Rick once wrote: “When we pay attention, whatever we are doing...is transformed and becomes part of our spiritual path.”

Jennifer considers creating the Fields Center to serve the broader autism community as part of her life's devotion to this calling.  Always present, Jennifer decided to name the center after this special person in her life.
