Workshop for Emerging Adults

What to expect:
Andy Santos is an autistic adult with a lot of experience working with other autistic adults. Together, in a room of only other neurodiverse folks, we are going to explore the experience of emerging into adulthood, together. We’re going to explore some of the following topics, over 10 weeks.
- Self care and Wellness
- First or early jobs/careers
- Executive function worries like paperwork or other bureaucratic problems
- Consent, Dating and Socializing
- Exploring gender and sexuality labels and identities
- College
- Shopping
- Driving
- Creating and growing support and social networks
- Scheduling

Led by: Andy Santo, an autistic adult in the midst of getting a Masters of Social Work, who comes with a lot of experience working in groups with other autistic and neurodiverse folks. And, Michelle Rainbow Merola, who has been with the Fields Center for four years and has a lot of experience working with people of all ages. She identifies as neurodiverse- but doesn’t have an official diagnosis. She loves helping people find methods and strategies to make their lives better and to navigate a world that is not designed for everyone.
REGISTRATION NOTE: This group will run for 10 weeks, starting October 16th, for an hour and a half every Thursday night, in person. Because our time is short, we’d like folks to focus on being on time and ready to participate every week, whenever possible.
